Purpose

The Child Parent Relationship Therapy Association of Hong Kong (CPRTHK)'s "Registered CPRT Trainer (Hong Kong)" program aims to cultivate qualified professionals with integrity and expertise to train parents in the application of Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT). This certification ensures that trainers meet professional standards in knowledge, practice, supervision requirements, and professional ethics, aligning with the Association's mission to promote the popularization of Child Parent Relationship Therapy in Hong Kong.

The vision of CPRTHK is to provide every parent in Hong Kong with children aged 2 to 10 with the opportunity to receive training in CPRT, with a particular focus on the needs of underprivileged families facing parenting pressures and resource shortages. We believe that changes in parents can profoundly impact their children's growth.

 

Application qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Complete CPRT trainer training recognized by the The Child Parent Relationship Therapy Association of Hong Kong.

  • It demonstrates an understanding of child development, parent-child relationships, and the process of therapeutic play.

  • Candidates with relevant helping professional backgrounds are preferred, ideally those holding degrees in social work or counseling.

  • She has received systematic training in child-centered play therapy.

  • Possesses practical experience in play therapy and CPRT.

 

Certification Requirements

To become a "Certificated CPRT Trainer (Hong Kong)," applicants must:

  1. Participate in CPRT trainer training approved by the CPRTHK.

  2. Complete 12 to 14 hours of supervised internship, which includes teaching and leading group practice under supervision.

  3. Complete child protection training ( www.childprotectiontraining.hk ).

  4. Holding a valid Sex Offence Conviction Record Check (SCRC) issued by the Hong Kong Police Force.

  5. Obtain approval from the CPRTHK supervisor, confirming that they have the preparation and professional competence to conduct CPRT training.

  6. If the applicant has no experience leading CPRT, they must first assist in leading a complete course before they can be assigned to lead a group independently.

  7. Participate in the supervision and learning of each course during the training or service period to ensure consistency in service quality and philosophy.
